TLPJ to Open New Office in Oakland,
California
Executive Director Arthur H. Bryant Will Head Up West
Coast Office
Trial Lawyers for Public Justice (TLPJ) will soon be opening
a new office in Oakland, California. TLPJ Executive Director Arthur
H. Bryant is moving to Oakland to head up the new office, and
will oversee TLPJ's cutting-edge litigation from there.
Bryant has served as TLPJ's Executive Director for 12 years,
building the organization from a staff of 2 to a staff of 25.
He is a 1976 honors graduate of Swarthmore College and a 1979
graduate of Harvard Law School. In 1991, Bryant was honored by
the American Bar Association as 1 of 20 young lawyers making a
difference in the world. In 1996, he received a Wasserstein Public
Interest Fellowship from Harvard Law School for "outstanding
contributions and dedication to public interest law." In
1997, he was named by the American Lawyer as one of 45 young lawyers
"whose vision and commitment are changing lives."
TLPJ's Washington, D.C. office will remain the national headquarters
for the organization, with John Giglio now in place as its new
Managing Director. Giglio was formerly Director of Strategic Development
at the National Hospice Organization and before that was Director
of Regional Advocacy and Legislative Counsel at the American Cancer
Society. He earned his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania,
has an M.A. from the Wharton School of Economics and an undergraduate
degree from Johns Hopkins.
