Toyo Ubaldo is the Director of Digital Communications at Public Justice. Based in Charleston, South Carolina, he manages the organization’s social media, website, and email outreach, helping make Public Justice’s cases and campaigns more accessible to the people they are meant to reach. His work is grounded in human-centered, participatory design and the belief that digital communication can make complex justice issues feel clearer, more collaborative, and more actionable.
Toyo’s approach grew out of Baltimore’s DIY creative communities, where design was a way to build culture and bring people together. That foundation still shapes his work today. At Public Justice, he brings a community-centered lens to digital storytelling, with a focus on the relationship between online advocacy and grassroots movements.
