Public Justice Welcomes Six New Members to Organization’s Governing Board
The Public Justice Foundation’s membership has announced the election of six prominent legal advocates from across the country to the organization’s Board of Directors. Founded in 1982, Public Justice takes on the biggest systemic threats to justice of our time – abusive corporate power and predatory practices, the assault on civil rights and liberties, and the destruction of the earth’s sustainability. The Foundation’s Board helps guide the organization’s strategic priorities in litigation, advocacy, fundraising, communications, and operations and is comprised of advocates and litigators from across the United States.
“We are thrilled to welcome these inspiring leaders to the Public Justice Board,” said Public Justice CEO Sharon McGowan. “They each bring a unique perspective, and deep expertise, across a wide range of issues to our already diverse and impressive family of Board Members. From guardians of class action litigation to civil rights champions and protectors of consumers and workers, our new class of Board leaders includes six of the most respected legal advocates from across the country. Their service and partnership will further amplify Public Justice’s commitment to ensuring our courts are open and working for all. I am excited to work with them as advocates for justice and stewards of this organization’s great legacy.”
Newly-elected Board President Janet Varnell of Varnell and Warwick added that, “Our new Board colleagues are a dream team of passionate public servants, accomplished trial attorneys and inspiring community leaders. I am eager to work side-by-side with them as we partner to further the mission of Public Justice and take on the enormous challenges and opportunities facing our courts, and our country, in the months ahead. I am confident that each one will be a vital part of helping our work be as impactful as we know it can – and must — be.”
