Kathy Kraninger is the WRONG choice to lead the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
Kraninger, President Trump’s nominee for Director of the CFPB, has failed to dispel the idea that she will continue the dismantling of the consumer rights watchdog initiated by interim director Mick Mulvaney. She also failed to come clean on her connection to the administration’s horrific family separation policy. Her evasiveness, as well as her seemingly poor judgment on a number of issues while at Office of Management and Budget, is all the more disturbing because she would head an agency that vulnerable people across the country depend upon for their basic economic security.
