A class action lawsuit filed in California state charging that thousands of female employees were denied equal pay and promotional opportunities at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (the “Lab”), a national security research facility managed by the Regents of the University of California for the U.S. Department of Energy.  In 2003, we won a landmark settlement agreement, requiring the Lab to dramatically overhaul its performance management system, pay $9.7 million in damages to the 3,000 class members, and increase the base salary of all class members by 1%.  Public Justice was co-counsel in the case with The Sturdevant Law Firm of San Francisco, CA;  Gwilliam, Ivary, Chiosso, Cavalli & Brewer in Oakland, CA; and Schneider & Wallace of San Francisco, CA.
