Director of Foundation Relations
Sandra D. Young is the newly appointed Director of Foundation Relations, and she brings diverse and extensive nonprofit leadership experience to this role.
Before joining Public Justice, Sandra served as the National Manager of Foundations for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. She successfully developed solid relationships and secured foundations funding for research and various neuromuscular disease program initiatives. She has worn many hats in the nonprofit sector, including program management, operations, nonprofit consultant, and development.
Sandra’s other professional experience includes serving as the Director of Operations for the Boys & Girls Club of Camden County, Camden, NJ, Project Director for Communities in Schools of NJ, Camden, NJ, Director of Education for the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, Philadelphia, PA, and Associate Director for Arts Training for the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Newark, NJ.
Sandra was born in Mobile, AL, and raised in Bronx, NY, and Camden, NJ. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication & Marketing from William Paterson University, and a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Leadership from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from Capella University with anticipated completion in 2022.
