Jacquelyn Oesterblad
Staff Attorney
Jacqui Oesterblad is a staff attorney with the Debtors’ Prison Project (DPP). She is based in southern Arizona. In her work, Jacqui helps to develop and litigate cases nationwide challenging policies in the criminal legal system that treat people differently as a result of their poverty or homelessness.
Jacqui received her J.D. from Yale Law School in 2022, where she participated in a wide variety of clinical work and internships, including prison conditions litigation, eviction defense, First Amendment work, and a medical-legal partnership serving primarily undocumented clinic patients. After graduating, she was a Skadden Fellow with DPP. Jacqui clerked for Judge Guido Calabresi of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit before returning to DPP as a staff attorney in 2025.
Jacqui is a proud alum of the University of Arizona and a former middle school social studies teacher.
