Lessons in Equality

School bullying has reached alarming levels in America. Every day, countless students go to school in fear of their safety and in an environment where it is difficult, if not impossible, to learn. Similarly, reports of sexual assault and dating violence have skyrocketed in recent years. On college campuses, and in K-12 schools across the country, too many young people feel mistreated, powerless and forgotten.

Public Justice is helping young people fight back and making a difference in their lives and the lives of other students, too. Our Anti-Bullying Campaign has brought cutting-edge lawsuits that result in widespread changes – in policies and procedures, training and education programs, and even personnel – that make schools safer. Our work on gender and sexual violence includes innovative legal advocacy that is helping change the way Title IX is used to ensure that all students have equal access to education, regardless of their sex, sexual orientation or gender identity. Along the way, our clients and attorneys are teaching educators, school officials, and students important lessons about equality and accountability.

Together, we’re impacting students’ lives and changing policies to make our schools, colleges and universities safer and more welcoming.
