The Huntington Hero Award

Public Justice is a public interest legal advocacy organization dedicated to pursuing high impact lawsuits to combat social and economic injustice, protect the Earth’s sustainability, and challenge predatory corporate conduct and government abuses. This year, Huntington Bank has established the Huntington Hero Award to be presented annually in honor of Public Justice staff members who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to advancing Public Justice’s mission and who exemplify Huntington Bank’s commitment to looking out for people.” The award is an opportunity to recognize Public Justice’s fantastic and outstanding team members for their myriad contributions and efforts that enable Public Justice to further its mission. The award will be presented each year during Public Justice’s Annual Gala. This year, the Gala will be a virtual event scheduled for August 6.

The Award will be accompanied by a $10,000 donation to the Public Justice Foundation in the name of each year’s honoree.

Criteria

The award will go each year to a person who meets the following criteria:

Is currently an employee of Public Justice who has worked at Public Justice for at least one yearprior to the Gala during which the Award will be given, and who has not previously won the Award;

 

Throughout their time as a staff member, has demonstrated a passionate commitment to furthering the mission of Public Justice and to looking out for people”;

 

Has demonstrated exceptional determination, leadership, creativity, and effectiveness in their work; and,

 

Has a notable achievement or notable achievements as a staff member within the last 12 months.

 

How To Nominate

To nominate a staff member or to self-nominate, please submit a one-page letter by email toVicky Ni (vni@publicjustice.net) addressing how the nominee meets the above criteria. Please provide specific examples where possible. Please note that nominees are NOT advantaged merely by having multiple nominations or nominators (though additional examples of the nominee’s qualifying achievements or attributes will be considered). If multiple parties are considering nominating the same person, please try to submit one succinct nomination letter from all parties where possible. The review committee is comprised of a representative of Huntington Bank (Rose Kohles), a representative of the Public Justice Foundation’s Executive Committee (Eric L. Cramer), and a representative of Public Justice’s Management Team (Vicky Ni). Nominations are due Friday, June 26 by 5:00 p.m. Eastern.  

Nominees will be informed of their status shortly before the Gala.
