Rohan Shetty

General Litigation Fellow

Rohan Shetty is the General Litigation Fellow at Public Justice. He litigates across Public Justice’s diverse issue areas, with a focus on combating the criminalization of poverty and ensuring open access to the courts.

During law school, Rohan participated in the Housing Clinic, where he represented low-income tenants during the 2021 Texas winter storm, and in the Transnational Worker Rights Clinic, where he helped undocumented workers secure fair wages under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Rohan spent his summers at the Dallas District Attorneys’ Office, where he was a Fair and Just Prosecution Fellow, and at Texas RioGrande Legal Aid’s Public Defender Service. After law school, he clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Before his life in the law, Rohan was a legislative aide in the U.S. Senate, where he advocated for more equitable social safety net, tax, and small business policies. Rohan received his B.S. from Georgetown University and his J.D. from the University of Texas, Austin.
