Toxic Torts

Consumers and workers exposed to harmful chemicals or pharmaceutical products face a variety of injuries, sometimes deadly ones. For victims taking on large manufacturers and employers, the courts provide what is often their only hope for justice. Because a significant amount of time can lapse between exposure to a toxic substance and when the damage becomes manifest, toxic torts is one of the most complex areas of civil litigation, but also one of the most important.

WHAT PUBLIC JUSTICE IS DOING

Public Justice has used cutting-edge litigation to protect the public from and prevent toxic injuries since its inception. Working with top-notch lawyers, scientists, and public interest advocates, we have held corporate polluters accountable for contaminating the land, air, and water with toxic chemicals; initiated landmark litigation against the lead pigment industry for lead paint poisoning of children; and prevented deadly asbestos poisoning of workers, consumers, and children.
While our environmental litigation is designed to preserve the splendor and safety of America’s land, air, and water, our toxic tort litigation is dedicated to protecting the rights, lives, and health of the people threatened by toxic chemicals and pollution nationwide.
