Public Interest Fellow

Leila Nasrolahi (she/her) is a Berkeley Law Public Interest Fellow with the Students’ Civil Rights Project (SCRP). She works on cases across SCRP’s existing docket and engages in case development.

Leila dedicated her time in law school to public interest litigation and advocacy. She was a 3L Fellow at the Center for Consumer Law & Economic Justice, where she drafted two amicus briefs to the California Supreme Court. During her 2L externship with Public Justice, Leila worked with the SCRP, Access to Justice, and Environmental Enforcement Project teams on a variety of litigation and advocacy matters. Leila also served as co-president of the Plaintiffs’ Law Association, a student group whose mission was to spread awareness about career paths on the other side of the ‘v’ and increase diversity in the plaintiffs’ bar.

Before law school, Leila worked as a middle school math teacher at San Jose Unified School District. Outside of class time, Leila developed curriculum, collaborated with school administrators to implement restorative practices in the classroom, and created solutions to distance learning challenges during COVID-19 school closures.

Leila received her J.D., Order of the Coif, from the University of California, Berkeley and her B.A. in Economics cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles.
