Senior Attorney

Alex is a Senior Attorney with the Debtors’ Prison Project, based in Northern California. Before joining Public Justice, Alex was the Associate Vice President for Strategic Litigation at the Conservation Law Foundation (CLF) in Boston, Massachusetts, where she managed a team of several attorneys and paralegals on groundbreaking federal Clean Water Act cases against major fossil fuel companies. Prior to her time at CLF, Alex was a Senior Attorney with the Economic Justice Project at the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, Alabama, where she primarily litigated cases addressing economic and racial injustice in the criminal legal system.
After receiving her J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School, Alex clerked for the Honorable Catharine F. Easterly on the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.
Alex is admitted to practice law in California, Alabama, and Massachusetts, as well as numerous federal courts.
